Worldwide ESD Tracking of Geologic Carbon Sequestration

ESD’s Geologic Carbon Sequestration (GCS) Program website now features a searchable map of all the current, past, and future (planned) geologic carbon sequestration projects in which ESD is involved worldwide. The map contains information about each of these projects, which are currently taking place on every world continent (save Antarctica). It also shows the concentration of projects in the USA.

The GCS mission is to develop the knowledge and understanding of CO₂ injection, storage, migration processes, impacts, and monitoring to inform and guide the safe and effective implementation of geologic carbon sequestration.
