CSI: Microbial Version without PCR

Source:  Lynn Yarris

Gary_csiGary Andersen of the Earth Sciences Division led the development of two new techniques for identifying the most active microbial populations in samples without the  problematic use of PCR technology.  These new techniques are based on the PhyloChip, the Lab’s award-winning, high-density DNA microarray. Working with Andersen on this project were Kristen DeAngelis, Cindy Wu, Harry Beller, Eoin Brodie, Romy Chakraborty, Todd DeSantis, Julian Fortney, Terry Hazen, Shariff Osman, Mary Singer and Lauren Tom.
